What is a partial maxillary metal denture?

A partial denture is a type of removable denture which only replaces part of the mouth’s teeth and surrounding tissue. An example image is shown on the left. Maxillary refers to the location of the upper jaw. The dentures can be made from either cobalt/chrome or acrylic. The metal partial dentures contain a metal framework which is placed at the back of existing teeth, and clasps can be used to hold the denture in position. A metal partial denture is used for patients with healthy teeth as they have to support the strong metal within the denture.

At ADHPL, we get digital impressions using our Sirona Orthophos XG5 3D X-ray machine, and send the partial denture to be made in the lab, which takes approximately 3-5 working days.
