What is a comprehensive exam?

A comprehensive exam is an important part of preventive care in dentistry, and its practice of preventing oral disease and caring for the general health of your teeth. An exam normally takes place on your first visit and is the basis to determine if there are treatments or preventive measures required.

Digital X-Rays are included as there may be conditions or issues that are not visible in the comprehensive exam alone. X-Rays allow us to locate and diagnose any potential problems or abnormalities such as tooth decay and bone loss. It also provides the information needed for restorative or preventive treatments.
